Small recipe for how to make peppers taste good (vegan, but I mention a version that isn't)

Originally posted here, from here on it's copypaste.

Oh god this is always near-orgasmic 😻 Maybe because I make it rarely. But it's also really good. When I ate it the first time as a kid, that was also the first time I ever ate peppers and didn't hate them. Possibly tomatos too.

What you need:

What to do

Leave the veggies whole and throw them into a pan with some oil.

Put them on the stove. The heat shouldn't be suuuuper high, but you do want the veggies to brown eventually. Just not before they're done internally.

The tomatos will explode, but they've never hurt me by doing that - might just be luck or maybe they always open to a convenient direction, idk.

Either wait a good while before you turn everything to make sure it browns on more than one side. Or if you're impatient like me, just keep poking it all.

Uuuh, you can add the black pepper at any point imo.

Once everything is as browned as you want it, add salt and the creamy stuff. Stir it a little and maybe break open the tomatos (I just poked them gently with my wooden spoon) so it gets more saucy.

That's it. It's delicious now.

My variation today

Today I also added celery stalks (in the beginning with the other veggies) and a spicy vegan sausage, sliced (about halfway through). It was also delicious. I ate it with some mediocre baguette and it was a dream.
